The first stage of the programming will be starting in the next few days, I will be starting up the development of the base platform for LCARS Linux, The OS. I estimate it will take about 9 months for the first pass, and I'm planning to run 3 pass’s, But after each pass, i should get faster, so I estimate about 1 1/2 years for all the pass’s, when the OS is done, we will start to develop the LCARS section and when it works, i will rebuild the OS with the LCARS built into it. So the rough first version release date is around 2014.

Message Boards:

@ potential team members, We are looking for people to fill the following positions:

Graphics designer to consult

C Programmer to program

Somebody with knowledge in AI

If you can fill the above position/s please email me: hamishwest@ymail.com

latest news from the forum:

Upgraded to phpBB3, that means members will need to rejoin, sorry.

Hamish
Hamishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11515657442133583254noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423890031923474974.post-51636092639826147612010-03-18T00:23:00.001-07:002010-03-18T00:23:17.477-07:00Sorry again
Sorry about the forums, I have been having some FTP problems, so I cant get the new forum uploaded, should be good in the next few days.

-Hamish
Hamishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11515657442133583254noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3423890031923474974.post-51103244834990690632010-03-15T23:41:00.001-07:002010-03-15T23:41:31.756-07:00Sorry…
…to everyone who has had to put up with the shaggy state of the forums, i am going to set tomorrow arvo aside to get the forum up to scratch, it can be found by cruising to http://lcarslinux.freehostia.com/ and going to the top buttons and clicking the forum one.

Messages Boards:

@Project Members, The members only section will be coming online in a few days, so be sure to check that out, passwords have been emailed out to you.

@Visitors, Think you have some good insights, or maybe some skills that could be helpful? We will base it on the Linux Kernel but we will be making a complete OS for this to operate in. We will need to make SVG images, AI modules to compute User Input(will be explained in more detail in a later post) and a windowing system to make it all happen.

The Team:

Hamish West-Project Founder/Leader.

Robert Carter-Project 2IC

Jesse Lowe –Logistics, The man how comes up with functions for the buttons

For more information, visit:LCARS Linux Homepage
Hamishhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11515657442133583254noreply@blogger.com0
